Hi! I’m Angela, I’m a 33 yr-old homemaker with a background in biology (ornithology and ecology). I love to knit, spin, sew, bake, can, and dabble in pretty much any domestic art out there. I am also a die-hard bird-nerd and proud of it. If I wasn’t farming and homeschooling, I’d be on a world bird watching tour, starting with the kakapo in New Zealand. My favorite veggie is garlic (we grow 6 varieties!).
I’ve been married to Casey, a math and social studies teacher, for almost 11 years. He loves to collect vintage board games, reads voraciously, and coaches chess club. (You’d never guess he’s a former college football player (defensive tackle) from that list, would ya?). He’s got a big soft spot for our ducks, and his favorite veggie is asparagus.
We have 4 rowdy, awesome kids:
Ruth is 9. She is an incredible artist, who works in pencil and watercolor. She has yet to find a book series she likes as much as Harry Potter, but says the Pseudonymous Bosch books are a close second. She is a bit poultry-obsessed, and will spend the whole afternoon in the chicken run if I let her. She can dance the robot like nobody’s business. Her favorite veggie is raw peas straight from the garden.
Bea is 7.5. She is a total firecracker with a BIG boisterous personality. She loves anything to do with ninjas, spies, and Legolas. Bea has a big heart and an awesome belly laugh. We don’t know how it started, but she loves Michael Jackson’s music. Her favorite veggie is potatoes.
Harold is 4. He was born 10 1/2 lbs and has hasn’t slowed down his pace for a second. He loves Legos and Bendaroos. He can make anything into a light saber or a space ship. I love how he sings to himself when he thinks no one is listening. His favorite veggie is raw carrots.
George is our baby, born in June, 2011. He is our only blue-eyed kid. He is much loved-on by his siblings. His favorite veggie is tomatoes.
