Here I am, bringing the evil of processed foods to your lovely corner of the blogosphere. I have made my own from-garbanzo-beans hummus lots of times but have yet to beat the powdered stuff in terms of either ease or price. If I started with dried chick peas it would be cheaper, probably, but from cans? Boxes of this are $1.50 – $2 on sale (I can buy bulk for even cheaper) and a can of chick peas, especially organic, is like 1.50. Not to mention the tahini. I add my own spices and I think it’s as good, too.
